§ 86-63. Establishment of economic development fund incentive grant program.

There is hereby established an economic development fund incentive grant program.
The program is a grant program intended to be an incentive for location of new businesses
or industries in the county, expansion of existing businesses already located in the
county, speculative construction in the county, or investment or job creation in an
agricultural operation or business in the county. The grant funds will be derived
from the economic development fund, which shall be funded at a level determined in
the board's sole discretion. The grant awards shall be made in the form of incentives
consisting of monetary incentives paid to an applicant after application and demonstration
by that applicant of qualification for the grant based on criteria and formulae adopted
by the board either through subsequent resolution or board-approved application provisions,
and entry into a grant agreement by the board and an applicant. Notwithstanding the
foregoing, grant awards may also be made for any county operation or program that
promotes and fosters economic development of the county at the board's sole discretion
without the necessity of an application.
