§ 50-718. Dog kennels.

  • The following applies to dog kennels:

    (1)

    The applicant shall provide written assurances that:

    a.

    All dogs will be kept within an enclosed building between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. each day, as a means of protecting nearby residences from disturbance by barking.

    b.

    Each dog will be provided with a run which meets or exceeds minimum standards as established by the levy county humane society.

    c.

    Each dog will be provided access to dry shelter at all times.

    d.

    Solid wastes will be removed on a daily basis, according to a method approved by the county health department.

    (2)

    A security fence shall completely enclose all areas containing dog runs and/or kennels. Each such fence shall be a minimum of six feet in height.

    (3)

    Any proposed kennel and enclosing fence shall be located at least 200 feet from every property line.
